My son is 3 and has a small head, so I try to make hats on the smaller end of the range recommended by Amy as well as this site. It may give you a better idea on how much to increase. Hope this helps!

JodiAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06892143949956604955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7478882256628652547.post-72824895827305633862012-12-02T01:15:41.318-05:002012-12-02T01:15:41.318-05:00

This will work best. Also measure around his head to see the circumference of his head.amyscrochetpatternshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15874692605712778380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7478882256628652547.post-5385280538943884902012-12-02T01:11:35.781-05:002012-12-02T01:11:35.781-05:00I changed the dc pattern a little, try this one. i...I changed the dc pattern a little, try this one. its the same, just the stitches fit the number count. amyscrochetpatternshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15874692605712778380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7478882256628652547.post-56228450187996137972012-12-01T22:59:07.904-05:002012-12-01T22:59:07.904-05:00Thanks Amy for the reply. Should I just keep increasing until 60 or so dc instead? Or should i just increase until a certain circumference, which would be.....? Doesn't dc just make the stitch taller and not wider than hdc? I don't want to end up with a hat that will be way too tight to get on his head. Thanks for your help. I am excited for the hat.
