sl st=slip stitch

beg=beginning
sc2tog=single crochet together
v-stitch= (dc,ch1,dc) is a double crochet, chain 1, double crochet

Instructions:
beg at top of head, ch 6, join with sl st to form ring. (this will be where to place the hanger string for the tree) D Hook

rows 4-5: repeat row 3.
row 6: sc in first sc, (skip next sc, sc2tog) twice, skip next sc, sc in last sc, ch 1, turn -4sc.
row 7. sc in first sc, sc2tog, sc in last sc, ch 4, turn-3sc.
row 8. dc in first sc, (ch 1, dc) 4 times in next sc, (ch 1, dc) 2 times in last sc, turn
row 9. sl st in ch-1 sp, ch 4-, dc in same sp-beg v-st made, ch 1, (v-st in next ch-1 sp, ch 1) 5 times, v-st over end ch-4 sp, turn.

rows 14-15. repeat row 13.
row 16. repeat row 13, working ch-2 sp at center of each shell. turn.
row 17. sl st in next 2 dc and in ch-2 sp, ch 3, 6 dc in same sp, (7 dc in ch-2 sp of next shell) 3 times. fasten off.

row 2: skip first st, hdc in each of next 77 hdc, hdc in top of next ch, ch 25, sl st at base of first sc of first row. fasten off.
finish by using stiffener, wrap around a pencil until dry.
