I was wondering if this was a newborn size? VERY cute!

amyscrochetpatterns said...

yes newborn - 3 months as stated in the description

How would you make this for a 6-9 month old?

amyscrochetpatterns said...

I dont have a pattern for that size, but you could go up a hook size to see if that works

How much yarn is needed for the main part of the diaper, the white?

amyscrochetpatterns said...

1/2 skein of yarn or so, I wish I would keep track of how much yarn I use.

I am working on this and, despite following the instructions, it is very lop-sided. One side of the work looks smooth and the other juts in horribly and jaggedly.

you can go around it with sc to make it smooth looking. I know at the end it can look like that. Did you watch the video. Make sure you count all your stitches.

I absolutely love this pattern! There is nothing cuter than ruffle butts!

Do you have a pattern for the matching hat

2 questions - Is the 13-14 inch size after it's buttoned or laying flat? Is there a gauge so I can figure out which size crochet hook I should use? I crochet very tightly. Thank you!

amyscrochetpatterns said...

After its buttoned it will fit around the baby with that size waist.

amyscrochetpatterns said...

I dont have the finished product to check the gauge

When you put 23 dc did you actually mean 24? That's the only way the stitch count worked for me

Love the pattern. I think there's an error. On row 8 - Ch 2, dc2tog decrease in the backloop, dc in the next 20 back loop stitches, dc2tog decrease. Turn. At this point if I dc in the next 20, I don't have 2 stitches left at the end to dc2tog. I dc in the next 19 instead so I could evenly decrease on both ends. Am I missing something? Thanks

did you watch the video? its right at 7 mintues of the video, you have 24 stitches to work with from the previous row, ch 2, work 2 dc together, then work 20 in the next dc backloops, then 2 together at the end, so 22 when you are done with that row. hope that helps

I love this pattern and am excited to make it! I use a lighter weight yarn though for my baby stuff, it's fingering weight with suggested 3.5 mmm hook. Any suggestions on how to adjust the beginning chain count so it's not too small?

amyscrochetpatterns said...

sorry I would have to redo the whole pattern if I changed the chain count, but I think that yarn should be fine with the pattern.

Hi! I'd like to know how to difference the loops to make the ruffles :c it doesn't show up on my work

LizzyB said...

I added 2 buttons to some I’ve made so it can be put tighter if needed for a smaller baby

I absolutely love this pattern and have now made a few of them in different colour ways sometimes putting 2 buttons on the Diaper cover instead of one it can make a better fit sometimes . Thanks again for a gorgeous pattern and easy to follow tutorial x

To make this for a 18 month old with a 21 inch waist, how many would I need to chain to make this work? I would just recalculate the rest of the rows need to know for the main starting chain. Thanks for sharing your patterns

I would have to rewrite the pattern and I dont have a pattern for bigger sizes.

I have twins being born in the family as preemies very soon and I would very much like to make a few for them, what size hook would you recommend to make it for a 3 to 5 lb preemie. I'll be using caron simply soft yarn to match the hats I already made for them. Thanks in advance!!! The pattern is beautiful!!!
