Crochet Shawl Tutorial with Video

I created this pretty crochet shawl with amore soft yarn and H hook. You can create this with a larger hook if you would like it bigger. You can make this around 30 inches wide or until your desired width. I uploaded a video if you need more assistance.

Gauge= 1 1/2 inches on Row 1 with H hook

Abbreviations:
sc=single crochet
sl st=slip stitch
dc=double crochet
2dctog=2 double crochet together
ch=chain

Supplies: Medium worsted yarn
H hook

Row 1: Chain 5, sl st to create a ring. Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc, ch 2, 2dctog, ch 2, 2dctog in the ring.

Row 2: Ch 4, turn, dc in the same stitch, ch 2, sc in the 2nd 2dctog, ch 2, dc, ch 1, dc, in the last 2dctog.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in the same stitch, ch 2, 2dctog in same space, ch 2, 2dctog in the same space, (creates the shell), sc in the previous sc, 2dctog, ch 2, 2dctog, ch 2, 2dctog in the last chain 1 space

You will begin to alternate between Rows 4 and 5, just keep expanding it to make it bigger

Row 4: Ch 4, turn, dc in the same stitch, ch 2, sc in the previous 2dctog, ch 2, dc in the previous sc, ch 1, dc in the same space, ch 2, sc in the previous 2dctog, ch 2, dc, ch 1, dc in the last ch 1 space, (this will expand on each row as you go along)

Row 5: Ch 3, turn, dc in the same stitch, ch 2, 2dctog, ch 2, 2dctog in the same space, sc in the previous sc, 2dctog, ch 2, 2dctog, ch 2, 2dctog in the previous ch 1 space, sc in the previous sc, 2dctog, ch 2, 2dctog, ch 2, 2dctog in the ch 1 space, (this will expand on each row as you go along)

Now Repeat Row 4 and Row 5 by alternating between the two rows but keep expanding.
