How to Crochet a Petal Doily

Crochet Colorful Petal Doily




I wanted to make a pretty doily for my home. So I came up with this crochet petal doily that will look nice on my table.  It measures 10 inches by 10 inches. My plant will look nice on the crochet petal doily!

Materials:
D hook
Red heart Light pink yarn, Cotton white and dark pink yarn, or you can use any type or colors you prefer.

Abbreviations:
sc=single crochet
sl st=slip stitch
dc=double crochet
hdc=half double crochet

Picot stitch=chain 3, sl st in the 3rd ch from the hook

Directions:
With white yarn, chain 8, join with sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1. ch 1, work 15 sc in the ring, join with a sl st to first sc. -15 sc

Rnd 2. work in the back loops only, ch 1, 2sc in the same st as sl st, *2 sc in the next st and each stitch around, *Repeat -30 sc fasten off with a sl st.

Rnd 3. Working in back loops only, attach dark pink yarn in any sc, ch 3, dc in the next 2 sc, (work 2dc in the sc, dc in the next 5 dc) Repeat 4 times, 2dc in the next sc, dc in the next 2 sc, join with sl st in top of beg chain 3, -35 dc  Fasten off.

Rnd 4. Working in back loops only, attach light pink yarn with a sl st of any dc, ch 1, sc in the same st as sl st, sc in the next 3 dc, *(sc, ch 10, sc) in the next dc, sc in the next 6 dc, rep from * around, at the end (sc , ch 10 dc, next dc, sc in the next 2 dc)join with sl st in beg sc.

Rnd 5. Working through both loops, ch 1, sc in the same st as sl st, *skip 4 sc, work 18 treble crochet in the chain 10 loop, skip 3 sc, sc in the next sc, Rep from * around, end sl st int he first sc. Fasten off with a sl st.

Rnd 6. Work in back loops only, attach dark pink yarn with a sl st in the last treble crochet of from the last round, sc in the same stitch as the sl st, pull up a loop and sc in the first stitch of the treble crochet group, pull up your loop and sc in the next stitch, and pull through all three loops,

 *sc in the back loops only in each of the next sc around for each petal, in the last stitch of each treble crochet group of each petal, pull up a loop, and sc in the first stitch of the treble crochet group, pull up your loop and sc in the next stitch, and pull through all three loops, *Repeat around, sl st, fasten off with a sl st.

Rnd 7.  Working in back loops only, attach white yarn with a sl st in any sc, *sc in the same stitch as the sl st, skip the next stitch, sc in the next stitch, *Repeat around, fasten off with a sl st.

Rnd 8. Working the back loops only, attach white yarn, sl st in the beginning stitch of the previous treble crochet group,  hdc in the same stitch as the sl st, (*hdc in the next sc, 2hdc in the next sc, Repeat for the next 10 stitches, work a hdc in the next 5 stitches, )*Repeat this around each petal, sl st, fasten off with a sl st.

Rnd 9. Working the back loops only, attach pink yarn with a sl st, sc in each stitch around, fasten off with a sl st.

Rnd 10. Working in the back loops only, attach with dark pink yarn, sl st in any stitch, sc in the same stitch as the sl st, sc in the next 4 stitches, *    (sc , chain 4, sc in the next stitch), sc in the next 5 stitches, *Repeat around, at the end, skip the last two stitches, sl st in the next stitch, fasten off with a sl st.
Rnd 11. sl st in the chain 4 loop, *work 10dc in the chain 4 loop, skip 3 sc, sc in the next sc, *Repeat around, join with a sl st, fasten off with a sl st.

Rnd 12. Attach with light pink yarn with a sl st in the 3rd dc, sc in the same stitch as the sl st, sc in the next two dc, (sc, picot,sc in the next dc) *sc in the next two dc, sc in the next dc, pull up , sc in the beginning dc of the next dc petal, pull up and sc in the  next dc, and pull through all three loops, sc in the next two dc, (sc,picot,sc in the next dc) *Repeat, fasten off with a sl st.

Weave in all the ends with a yarn needle.
