To make the sunflower granny square use this color pattern. H hook
Rnd 1: Start with Brown yarn, Ch 5, sl st in the beginning chain to create a ring. Ch 3, work 15 dc in the ring. Fasten off.
Rnd 2: slip knot your hook with orange yarn and slip stitch by inserting your hook into any space in Rnd 1, ch 3, yarn over and insert your hook in the chain space, draw up your loop three times, yarn over and pull yarn through all loops on the hook, ch 1, *insert your hook in the next space, yarn over and insert your hook in the chain space, draw up your loop three times, yarn over and pull yarn through all loops on the hook, ch 1, *Repeat around for each stitch for a total of 16 puff stitches, sl st into the chain 3. Fasten off.
Rnd 3: slip knot your hook with yellow yarn, insert your hook into any chain space from Rnd 2 and slip stitch, ch 3, dc 3 together(its almost the same as 4 dc together except it has a chain 3 and 1 less dc), ch 2, in the next stitch, *work 4 dc together cluster (listed in the directions), ch 2, *Repeat around for a total of 16 clusters, sl st in the chain 3. Fasten off.
Rnd 4: slip knot your hook with cream yarn, insert your hook with your cream yarn into any chain 2 space, ch 4, work 2 tr,
*in the next chain space, work 3 dc,
in the next chain space, work 3 hdc,
in the next chain space, work 3 dc,
next chain space work a corner, 3 tr, ch 3, 3 tr,
*Repeat, at the end work 3 tr, ch 3, sl st in the beginning chain 3. Fasten off and Weave in your ends.
The photo above is the crochet sunflower layout for the purse. You will need 13 crochet granny squares to create this purse. The video will help you sew the squares together for this purse. I wanted an invisible seam so I made sure all the sunflower squares front facing were facing down on the table when I assembled the purse. I used a sc stitch to sew the squares together. Then turned it right side out so the front of the squares were on the outside.
Work a hdc in each stitch around the top of the purse, work 2 hdc in each chain 3 space.
The Handle: h hook, Make 2
Chain 95, hdc in the 2nd chain from the hook and each chain across. I sewed them on the peak of the purse on each side. I hope you enjoyed this free crochet flower bag pattern!
