Crochet Baby Newborn Football Cocoon
I made this cozy football cocoon for a friend who is having a baby boy. She went to the University of Michigan and I wanted to make the in Blue and Yellow Michigan colors. You can change up the colors to match your football team if you like.
Abbreviations:
dc=double crochet
sc=single crochet
sl st=slip stitch ch=chain

Supplies: 
Red Heart Love Blue and Yellow

Instructions:
I Hook 
Ch 5- slip stitch to form a ring,
Start with dark blue,
rnd 1. ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join with sl st. on top of ch 3. -12 sts.
rnd 2. ch 3, dc in each dc around, sl st -12 sts.

rnd 3. ch 3, dc in same st. as joining, 2dc in each st. around. join with sl st on top of chain 2. -24 sts.

rnd 4. ch 3, counts as the first stitch, *2dc in next st., dc in the next stitch, repeat from *around, join with sl st. -36 sts.
rnd 5. ch 3, dc in the next st., 2dc in the next sts., *dc in the next two stitches, 2dc in the next stitch, repeat from *around, join with sl st. -48 sts.
rnd 6. Ch 3, dc in the next two stitches, 2dc in the next st., *dc in the next three stitches, 2dc in the next stitch, repeat from *around, join with sl st. -60 sts.
rnd 7. ch 3, dc in the next three stitches, 2dc in the next st., *dc in the next four stitches, 2dc in the next stitch, repeat from *around, join with sl st. -72 sts.
rnd 8. Sl st with Yellow yarnCh 3, dc in each dc around, sl st, -72 sts
rnd 9. Sl st back with Blue yarn, Ch 3, dc in each dc around, sl st, -72 sts
rnds 10-23. Ch 3, dc in each dc around, sl st, -72 sts
rnd 24Sl st with Yellow yarn, Ch 3,dc in each dc around, join with sl st -72 sts
rnds 25-28Sl st with Blue yarn, Ch 3, dc in each dc around, sl st, -72 sts 
Tie: With Yellow yarn, chain 100 with a J Hook, tie a knot on both ends to make a belt tie and at the top round, weave in and out of the dc.
