I made this purse for myself for when having a special night out! I hope you like it! I love putting my makeup compact and credit cards in a little clutch purse when I have a night out, so this is perfect!

How to Crochet a Clutch Purse Video
Abbreviations:
ch=chain
sc=single crochet
dc=double crochet
sl st=slip stitch
Dimensions: 7" in length X 4" height
Make it bigger with more sc or a bigger hook or smaller with a smaller hook or fewer stitches, but I tried to create a certain amount of sc so the shell top fits in the stitches properly.

Supplies:
I used Red Heart Love Dark Pink Yarn
I hook, Yarn needle
Instructions:
Rnd 1: Chain 26, sc in the 3rd chain from the hook and each sc across Turn -24 sc
I hook, Yarn needle
Instructions:
Rnd 1: Chain 26, sc in the 3rd chain from the hook and each sc across Turn -24 sc
Rnds 2-30: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn -24 sc, Total of 30 rounds
Rnd 31: Ch 3(counts as a dc), dc in the next sc, skip two sc, work 2 dc, *skip two sc, work 2dc, ch 1, 2dc in the next sc, *4 times, skip two sc, work 2 dc, skip two sc, dc in the last two sc, Turn
Rnd 32-35: **Ch 3(counts as a dc), dc in the next dc, work 2 dc in the next two previous dc, *work 2dc, ch 1, 2dc in the next ch 1 space, *4 times, work 2dc in between the next previous two dc, dc in the last two dc, Turn **Repeat this 4 times.
Then take the sc section and fold it up to the shell part, sew both sc sides together with an sl st on both sides. After I sewed the sides, I turned it inside out, and it looks better. Then the shell part will overlap the sc section to create the top of the clutch purse.
Button:
E hook
Rnd 1: Ch 2, work 5 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sl st
Rnd 2: work 2 sc around, sl st -10 sc
Rnd 3: work sc around each sc, sl st -10 sc
Rnd 4: 2 sc together decrease 5 times -5 sc
Rnd 5: sc in each sc around, sl st. -5 sc, Fasten off.
Attach the button with your yarn needle and yarn to the bottom center of the clutch on the sc section.

Thank you. Love it.
Thank you for the great tutorial
I have a question though..
If I want to add more stiches to the length so the shell top will still fit.. what amount of stiches should I add??
Thanks again
I’m not sure I made this pattern a while ago but I’d would go with a larger hook to make it wider
Thanks for the reply..
Another question if i may ask
How did you end it? Is it sc in all stiches?
yes until the shell part, did you watch the video that may help you
Is there a problem with the button part, or am I reading it wrong. Where do you get the 5 SC for the button n the 2nd round, when you only have 2 sc to begin with.
ok I rewrote it so it makes sense, E hook
Rnd 1: Ch 2, work 5 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sl st
Rnd 2: work 2 sc around, sl st -10 sc
Rnd 3: work sc around each sc, sl st -10 sc
Rnd 4: 2 sc together decrease 5 times -5 sc
Rnd 5: sc in each sc around, sl st. -5 sc, Fasten off.
