2 Skeins of Lion Brand Thick Cream yarn
Dimensions: Width=10 inches, Height=8 inches
Abbreviations:
ch=chain
sl st=slip stitch
sc=single crochet
dc=double crochet
ch=chain
sl st=slip stitch
sc=single crochet
dc=double crochet
rnd 1: Work 10 dc in a Magic Circle, sl st on top of the chain 3. -10 dc
rnd 2. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in same st. as joining, 2dc in each dc around. join with sl st on top of chain 3. -20 dc
rnd 3. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in same st. as joining, 2dc in each dc around. join with sl st on top of chain 3. -40 dc
rnd 4. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in the next dc, 2dc in the next dc, *dc in the next two dc, 2dc in the next dc, Repeat from *around, join with sl st. -52 dc
rnd 5. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in the 2 next two dc, 2dc in the next dc, *dc in the next 3 dc, 2dc in the next dc. Repeat from * around, join with sl st. -65 dc
rnd 6. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in each dc front loop around, (this will make it stand up) sl st -65 dc
rnds 7-13. *ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), (now dc in both loops now and for the rest of the pattern) dc in each dc around, sl st -65 dc *Repeat for 7 Rounds.
rnd 14. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in the next 11 dc, chain 9, skip the next 9 dc, dc in the next 24 dc, chain 9, skip the next 9 dc, dc in the next 11, sl st.
rnd 15. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in the next 11 dc, work 11 dc around the chain 9, dc in the next 24 dc, work 11 dc around the chain 9, dc in the next 11, sl st. Fasten off and Weave in the Ends.

I enjoyed this pattern. I used a heavy yarn - Bernat Blanket - and I put a little tapestry pattern on it & I didn't really want the handles. But WELL written and easy. Well-written is a big deal - so MANY poorly written patterns out there. Thank you!!!! Oh! Found it on Ravelry.com.

Hello Ms.Jewel. I love this basket pattern a lot. I'm having lots of fun making it so far but I'm stuck on round 6 and would like some help please. I don't understand what you mean by first loop..."dc in each first loop around(this will make it stand up)". Thanks for the help :)
In your stitch, you have a front loop and a back loop, if you having trouble understanding with which is front or back, go to youtube and look at some videos to help you. The front loop in the loop in front before you insert your hook, so you will just work into the front loop not the complete stitch or not the back loop, heres a video that may help, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFQNoG3iDuk

Wow!!! This is the perfect basket pattern. I adapted mine a little bit by using a lighter weight cotton yarn and smaller hook. For my purposes, I also shortened the sides. This is so adaptable and versatile! I'm starching my baskets to make them a little more sturdy, but all in all this is super fast and easy.
I used 2 strands of Sugar n Cream cotton and added finish row of rev single. Very pleased with your pattern. Thanks
How big is this in the end? I'm looking for a basket big enough to hold a couple of lap blankets in the living room.

Hello, thank you for the pattern.
I have 2 questions:
1. How do you make your basket stay firm? Because mine, because of the material, is very soft and it doesn't stay in a vertical position.
2. My second question is that for me it seems that while I crochet, the interior would be the part that should stay outside.
I would use very thick firm yarn for a basket or it will be flimsy and Im not sure I understand your second question, I think yes the interior can be on the outside.

Thank you so much for this pattern. I needed a basket for my yarn and was going to buy one. Then I ran into this pattern on Ravelry and fell in love. Thinking of making more for my daughters' bedrooms and for my bathroom.
I do have one question. So far I only made one and it seems to fall in on the sides. Not really a problem because with the stuff in it, it stands up, but I'm wondering if I did something wrong. After the 6th row, when you go into 7-13, do you keep going just using the front loop or are you supposed to go in through both loops?
