How to crochet a star ornament for beginners: A step by step guide



I made this Fun Star Ornament for nice a decoration for the tree or you can place them on gifts as well. I used an F hook and Medium Worsted Yarn. Star Tutorial



Supplies:
F hook, or larger hook for a larger stocking.
Red Heart Green Yarn
Yarn needle
It measures 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches

Abbreviations:
ch=chain
sl st=slip stitch
sc=single crochet
dc=double crochet
ch=chain

Rnd 1: Ch 6, sl st to join to create a ring. 
Rnd 2: Chain 3, (Counts as Dc), work 2 dc in the ring, ch 2, *work 3 dc in the ring, ch 2, *Repeat 3 more times for a total of 5 (3dc's and chain 2's)
Rnd 3: sl st into the chain 2 space, Chain 3, (Counts as Dc), work 2 dc in the chain 2, then ch 2, work 3 dc in the same ch 2 space, in the next ch 2 space, work 3 dc, ch 2, work 3 dc, *Repeat 3 more times for a total of 5 times of (3dc, ch2, 3dc in the ch 2 space)
Rnd 4sl st into the chain 2 space, Chain 3, (Counts as Dc), work 2 dc in the chain 2, then ch 2, work 3 dc in the same ch 2 space, ch 2, sc in the space between the shells, ch 2, 
*work 3 dc, ch 2, work 3 dc in the next chain 2 space of the previous shell from round 3, ch 2, sc in the space between the shells, ch 2, *Repeat 3 more times for a total of 5 times of (3dc, ch2, 3dc in the ch 2 space with ch 2 then sc in between the shells and ch 2)

Fasten off. Weave in the ends. Add a ribbon to the top or chain hanger on top as shown in the video.
