This Crochet Ripple Afghan blanket was easy and fun to make. This crochet pattern looks so nice on my couch or just to cuddle up with. I created a single crochet afghan tutorial a few years ago and I had so many ask how to create an afghan with double crochet so I decided to create this pattern.
2 balls of each yarn color, medium worsted impeccable yarn, blue, pink, and white.
Gauge: 4 rows measure about 4 inches with a h hook
About 70 by 68 inches when finished
About 2 balls of each color for this size of afghan. To Create a Smaller afghan use these chain counts to make your afghan smaller: Chain 126 Chain 168 Chain 189 Chain 252
Chain 252, H hook
Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from the hook. 1 dc in each of the next 8 ch, * 3 dc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 9 ch, skip 2 ch, 1 dc in each of next 9 ch, repeat from * to last 10 ch, work 3 dc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 9 ch, ch 1, turn.
Row 2. Skip 1 dc, 1 dc in back loop of each of next 9 dc, *3 dc in back loop of next dc, 1 dc in back loop of each of next 9 dc, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in back loop of each of next 9 dc, repeat from *across, end 3 dc in back loop of next dc, 1 dc in back loop of each of next 9 dc, leaving last stitch unworked, ch 1, turn.
Repeat Row 2 two more times with one color of yarn, then you can switch to a new color and Repeat for 4 more rows, then change to a new color and Repeat for 4 more rows if you would like 3 colors in your afghan, or you could continue on with more rows on the same color, depends on how you prefer your afghan.
I did 6 sets of 4 rows of of each color which is 4 inches for each 4 rows of each color. So the dimensions 12 inches x 6 sets = 68 inches or you can do less. In my video I gave different numbers to make this afghan smaller too.
