Crochet Jacob's Ladder Stitch Tutorial

The Jacob Stitch is done in Multiples of 5 + 2. I used a H hook with medium worsted yarn. The Gauge is 1 inch per row. This stitch is so unique and pretty when finished.

Abbreviations:
dc=double crochet
sc=single crochet
sl st=slip stitch
ch=chain

Done in Multiples 5 + 2
For a Sample I did a chain of 42 with a h hook

Row 1: dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each dc across.
Row 2: ch 1, Turn, sc in each stitch across
Row 3: color change with new yarn, ch 3, dc in the next 4 sc, ch 10, sl st at the top of the dc, *dc in the next 5 stitches, ch 10, sl st at the top of the dc, end with 5 dc*Repeat across,
Row 4: ch 1, *sc in the next 5 stitches, move the ch 10 back and sc in the next 5 stitches, *Repeat across
Row 5: Alternate between Rows 3 and 4 until you have your desired length

The row after your last chain 10 loop, Start a new row, then ch 3, dc in each stitch across

At the end, take the ch 10 loops and loop them together in line by weaving them together, watch the video if you need more assistance.

Then ch 1, sc in the next 5 stitches, on the 5 th sc, grab the chain 10 and sc, and sc in the next stitch with the chain 10 again, *then every 5th sc and the next sc, grab the chain 10 twice and sc, *Repeat until the end.

The last row, ch 3, dc in each stitch across, fasten off and weave in the ends.
