Create a V-Stitch Afghan with this pattern. It's done in a multiple of 3+5. I used a hook with medium worsted yarn. With a sample of 20 chains, it measures if 7 inches and 1/2 inch for each row. For a child's blanket, you could work a chain of 101 with 40 rows.
