This braided stitch pattern is wonderful for scarfs and blankets. It's done in multiples of 2. I used an I hook with fine yarn. However you can used any type of yarn and hook size.
Row 1: Done in Multiples of 2. Work dc in the 5th ch from the hook, ch 1, go back to the chain behind your dc, work a puff stitch, yarn over and insert your hook, yarn over and draw up your loop for total of 5 times, yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook, ch 1, skip next chain, *dc, ch 1, go back to the stitch behind dc, and work puff stitch, ch 1, *Repeat until the end. With the last chain work dc.
Row 2: This Row Repeat for each row.
Ch 3, Turn. skip the first space, *dc in the next space, ch 1, go back to the beginning space, work puff stitch, ch 1, skip next stitch, work dc, ch 1, *Repeat until the end. At the end in the chain 3 space, work dc, then go back and work puff stitch, then end with a dc in the chain 3 space.
