How to Crochet Top Hat Pattern
My daughter likes to play make believe and do magic sometimes, so I thought it would be fun for her to wear this crochet top hat! She really enjoyed wearing the crochet hat around the house.

Supplies:
Red heart yarn Black yarn
H Hook, Yarn needle

Abbreviations: sc=single crochet sl st=slip stitch ch=chain
Made this for a toddler-preschooler (12 months-3 yrs), 18"-20" head cir., hat length=7" =H hook
Use a smaller hook for smaller size or eliminate some increases. Use a larger hook for a larger size or increase a few more times.

Instructions:
H hook
Black yarn
ch 4, slip stitch to form a ring,
Rnd 1. Work 10sc in the ring. slip stitch. (10sc)
Rnd 2. Work 2sc in each stitch around, now work in continual rounds, (20sc)
Rnd 3. Single crochet in each stitch around, (20sc)
Rnd 4. *sc in the first stitch, 2sc in the next stitch, *Repeat for that round (30sc)
Rnd 5. Single crochet in each stitch around, (30sc)
Rnd 6. *sc in the next two stitches, 2sc in the next stitch, *Repeat, (40sc)
Rnd 7. Single crochet in each stitch around, (40sc)
Rnd 8. *sc in the next three stitches, 2sc in the next stitch, *Repeat (50sc)
Rnd 9. Single crochet in each stitch around, (50sc)
Rnd 10. *sc in the next four stitches, 2sc in the next stitch, *Repeat (60sc)
Rnd 11. Single crochet in each stitch around, (60sc)
Rnd 12. Slip Stitch now, and sc in the back loops only in each stitch around, then slip stitch again (60sc)
Rnd 12-35. *Single Crochet in each stitch around, (60sc) *Repeat, Or what ever desired length you prefer
The Brim:
Rnd 36. *sc in the next two stitches, 2sc in the next stitch, *Repeat
Rnd 37. *sc in the next three stitches, 2sc in the next stitch, *Repeat
Rnd 38. *sc in the next four stitches, 2sc in the next stitch, *Repeat,
Rnd 39. single crochet in each stitch around, sl st. fasten off.
