I made this Mermaid tail after seeing many cute mermaid tails for baby's and I wanted to make one for my friend. I hope you enjoy this pattern!

Part II
Rnd 9: Ch 3 (counts as a dc and ch 1), work dc in the same stitch (v-stitch made), *skip next dc, dc in the next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc, ch 1, dc in the next dc, ch 1,*Repeat around, sl st in the beginning ch 2 of the v-stitch
Rnd 10: *work 5 front post dc around the first dc on the v-stitch from top to bottom, ch 2, work 5 front post dc from bottom to top of the 2nd dc of the v-stitch, sl st in the next dc, *Repeat around, sl st in the beginning ch 2 of the v-stitch, just above that last dc in that round, then go back to round 9, where you will create a v-stitch, you want your crocodile stitches to overlap each other.
Repeat Rnd 9, then go to Rnd 10, so alternate between rounds 9 and 10. I did 14 rounds of the Crocodile stitch.
Then the last rounds. Sc around each stitch around. The last round, Chain 3 (counts as first treble crochet), treble crochet in each sc around. This will be the belt loops. Work a 1 inch ribbon in and out of each treble crochet loop. Then tie a bow in the center.

Is my gauge way off, or is this tiny? There are no increases after the crocodile stitch starts? I'm coming up with a 6 inch diameter. I know babies are small, but this seems way too small.
did you get 40 dc around before you started the crocodile stitches? Once you start the crocodile stitches it will be the same diameter around.
Do you have a Video for this on your YouTube page?
no, but I do have the crocodile stitch part of it, which is in this pattern.
Are you able to do a video starting this pattern up to the start of the crocodile stitch as I'm a bit lost with the abbreviations and find it easier to learn by watching someone else do it, thanks.
Did you watch the videos on how to do crocodile stitches that I made, if I get time I can, but Ive been busy and my fingers were hurting from crocheting so I took a break.
I'm also a bit confused with the begining of the pattern says start off with ch2 how is it possible to work with only ch2? ...I would love it if you could do a video tutorial for this..like the other person, I also find it easier to watch someone. Thank you any help would be appreciated :)
Hi, I also am having trouble following the pattern, at the start it says ch2, how is it possible to work with only a ch of 2? It would be great if you could do a video tutorial for this. Like the other person I also find it easier to watch someone else do it.any help would be appreciated :) thank you :)
Ch2 your starting off at the bottom and working to the top.
-Chain 2 starts at bottom with 5 sc in first chain eliminating the 2nd chain. You will have 5 sc sl st together for a small circle. Adding the 2dc will widen the circle as you work towards the top. Sl st each row to continue the circle creating a cone shape.
-YES mine was very small; I did not measure but 6 in diameter seems about right. When you start the v stitches it widen even more.
-v stitch is dc, sc, dc in same stitch; the point of your v will point same direction as tip of cone.
-when doing the 1st 5 fpdc you will be at the top of the blanket working toward the tip of the cone, sc will act as the tip of the crocodile scale and will be pointed toward the top of the cone as welll. The 2nd fpdc will start closer towards the tip of the cone and work up toward the top of the blanket. I found it easiest to turn the blanket 90 degrees right and left to make the posts horizontal and easier to work.

I love your pattern thanks for sharing. How would you increase this for 3-6 month old?
Thanks
